Camp Joharie Nurses
Azerean Cameron, Director
"And all thy children shall be taught of The Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children." Isaiah 54: 13
The mission of this ministry is to support the vision of Bishop Roderick Caesar, Sr. of establishing a camp where for generations children can come be fed with the Word of God and Jesus is lifted high and God is glorified.
On Community Day, Camp Joharie Nurses hosts the Abundant Life Health Fair. Blood pressure and blood sugar screening are done. Tasty continental breakfasts are served and a skit on health issues is presented, followed by good counseling.
We thank God for His provision and His covering. We are praying that more families from our church and our community (young or old) will see the vision and fall in love with Camp Joharie all over again.
Joppa Youth Ministry
Rev. Frederick O. Towles, Youth Minister
Joppa Youth Ministry consists of two components:
Worship service Joppa Youth Church held every Sunday at 11:15am, except for the 5th Sunday of the month when we worship in the main sanctuary.
Friday Night Youth Service Youth service is held on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month. Youth service consists of a variety of things:
Bible study, rap sessions, trips, fellowship with other youth ministries, games, etc.
The purpose of Joppa Youth Ministry is to capture the attention of an unconventional generation using loving but unconventional methods in an attempt to evangelize and disciple / train. In turn this will cause a change in families, communities and schools through those who have been trained.
Sister Sherri Adeosun, Director
At Kids4Christ, we ground our children in the Word of the Lord. We meet during the second service at 11 am. Our scriptural themes are:
Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Joshua 1: 8- The book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then thou shall have good success.
Our mission is to prepare our children by equipping them with the tools they need for life.
We are presently using a new curriculum called "Generation of Grace". This curriculum not just prepares our 56 volunteer staff to teach the student, it also grounds them in their Christian journey. Our volunteers are encouraged to study and apply the Word of God to their lives first and teach it to the children.
In 3 years, the students would have gone through a systematic study of the Word of God: precept upon precept, doctrine upon doctrine, creating a solid foundation for them. This curriculum has several activities and a craft book that reinforces the lesson of the day. Additionally, the curriculum has a family section that is sent home weekly for the parents to engage in a daily review of the lesson of the week.
The classes are organized as follows:
- Beginners: 3 and 4 yrs. Captain - Min. Shanekwa Hicks
- Early Elementary: 5 and 6 yrs. Captain - Pat Strong-Boyd
- Primaries: 7 and 8 yrs. Captain - Shawna Brown
- Middlers: 9 and 10 yrs. Captain - Cheryl Campbell
- Juniors: 11 and 12yrs. Captain - Andrea Barrette
The children participate in weekly memorization of scripture using disappearing scriptures techniques, various recitation, Bible Bee, Take-home Family weekly reviews.
Kids4Christ Speech Choir
Sister Sherri Adeosun, Director
The Kid4Christ Jr Speech Choir is a part of the Worship and Fine Arts Ministry of Bethel.
Our primary aim is to teach the children to recite the Word of God expressively, dramatically and creatively. Our goal is to encourage them to memorize the Word and hide it in their hearts.
The children participate in the Sunday School Easter and Christmas productions. They also do presentations at the church during the youth Sunday services.
